Aileen Rodriguez

Aileen Rodriguez has been undergoing home-based therapy since July 2009 up to the present under CBR programme in Eastern Samar, the Philippines. The village health worker, trained by Terre des Hommes Netherlands for rehabilitation skills, undergoes and supervises the therapy. Aileen and her parents were taught of the exercises she had to do every day. Slowly, her balance improved and from clutching onto the post for support so that she can be able to stand, she can now stand with the aid of a stick.

    FORGE is a social development organisation established in June 1987 to empower grassroots communities towards effective and collective action on their issues. Since then FORGE has been organizing urban poor groups to develop their capacity to analyze and collectively resolve community issues such as demolition threats, lack of basic services, etc. It has also organised informal sectors such as try cycle drivers/motorbikes taxi drivers and vendors at the Port to lobby with the Ports Authorities for continued operations in the absence of an alternative livelihood. To address the varied needs of the community, FORGE also implemented support programs with its partners namely: gender-sensitive child care, livelihood for women, training for alternative healing specifically reflexotherapy. FORGE aims to develop integrated, sustainable, gender sensitive, child friendly and healthy communities where the well-being of all people is promoted.

  • Yayasan Aulia

    Yayasan Aulia logo In 1978, it was discovered numerous streets children in intersections, department stores, bus/train stations in Jakarta.  In response to this concerning situation, the founders of Yayasan Aulia began its works in providing assistance to these children to fulfil their rights to education. Twelve years later, in 1992, Yayasan Aulia established a center for children in Yogyakarta to support the existing program in Jakarta.  In the meantime, services to children and the community in slum areas were continued in urban areas.  In 1995, Yayasan Aulia registered as one of non-government organisation. Yayasan Aulia’s approach is to capacitate the communities to solve their problem. Yayasan Aulia especially support people who have been rejected and neglected by their families and the society, foster unity among the above-mentioned-community anda guide them towards independence in order to contribute to community development.

  • Yayasan Pembinaan Anak dan Remaja Indonesia (Yapari)

    Yayasan Pembinaan Anak dan Remaja Indonesia (Yapari) logo Yayasan Pembinaan Anak dan Remaja Indonesia (Yapari) is a local non-government organization based in Jakarta. It is a foundation registered with the Ministry of Social Welfare under Nr. 2004-40717-316 and also has an official document of a public notary. In the beginning Yapari very much had a charity approach. However, they have changed their paradigm towards a more development approach. This included more emphasis on community empowerment. Yapari established Community Based Organizations or more well knows as “self help group”. At present the organisation is supporting 1,500 children by provide their basic education.
